New Program Will Exempt Police From Sanctuary-Detainer Restrictions
The Trump Administration announced a new Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) program designed for local law-enforcement agencies that want to honor immigration detainers but are prohibited from doing so under state and/or local sanctuary policies. According to a press release, ICE created the Warrant Service Officer (WSO) program at the request of the National Sheriffs' Association and the Major County Sheriffs of America.
On Sunday, President Trump named Mark Morgan as the new director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), who will now face a confirmation hearing in the Senate. Morgan was named after the President withdrew his previous nominee, Ronald Vitiello, last month.

On Monday, you read excerpts from The New York Times' coverage of the United Nations' report on biodiversity loss. Here are some of the online comments left by NYT readers: One reader writes: as we increase our population due to immigration we will exponentially increase our carbon footprint since Americans use 10 times the energy of other countries. but greedy corporations just want cheap labor. Another: Humans are speeding extinction by causing environmental destruction, and the worst place to put more humans is the US--the major industrialized nation with the greatest per capital greenhouse emissions and resource use.
Yet, we are adding around 20 million per decade--one New York State population equivalent--mainly through mass immigration. They come here to consume like Americans.
Unfortunately, criticizing mass immigration is taboo on the left. The NYT could do the world a great favor by investigating the downside of mass immigration to the US for the global environment--as well as for American workers. Another: In the United States and Canada, we also need to greatly reduce immigration since that is what is causing the populations for these two countries to grow. Another: The underlying problem is too many people! Too many see Japan's demographics as a problem, when it's the solution. Europe and the US without immigration would be stable. Another: Advances in healthcare, sanitation and food production have enabled the exponential growth in human populations that need space and resources.
Developed nations are at flat or declining population growth absent immigration. While we use many more resources per capita, much the environmental destruction comes from deforestation and farming in the developing world.
And yet today's politics don't permit discussion of who's doing the damage. Leftists will blame the corporations and the west, while simultaneously demanding we allow more people to immigrate here to take up the same profligate consumption they decry as harmful.
Hate to say it, but reducing populations everywhere is the key to slowing the destruction. But that's not politically correct. Another: The US can do its part to reduce consumption by limiting the number of consumers, by drastically reducing or halting immigration. Another: So many excellent and perceptive comments. In our own country we need to limit (reverse) population growth by limiting immigration. This has been the main driver of our population increase from around 150 million residents in the 1940s and 1950s to our present number of over 320 million. The main problem in enacting restrictive immigration measures is that this is vehemently opposed by many voters, including many liberals and the media, including this newspaper.
Readers of the Times get it. But as the last comment indicates, population boosterism is practically a given in today's mass media. Just yesterday, The New York Times ran a news story that laments the declining population growth rate* in California. *note the rate is declining but California's population (largely driven by immigration) is still growing. "The anemic increase isn't great," the reporter writes before warning that "the slow growth should not be taken as a sign that the state can take its foot off the gas when it comes to housing development." Housing growth, as Sustainability Watch readers know, is the primary threat to protected areas in the United States. Without a hint of irony, the reporter then recommends the Times' story on biodiversity loss! (face palm) Once again, NYT readers ride to the rescue. One reader writes: The Sierra snowpack upon which we depend for our drinking water doesn't care about relative growth. It's still 186,807 new people making demands on the water supply.
"The anemic increase isn't great" - indeed, *any* increase isn't great. And another also takes issue with the reporter's assumptions: "The anemic increase isn't great; economists will tell you that a stagnant or declining work force makes it tough to sustain economic growth."
What economists won't tell you is that the consequences of growth include pressure on existing communities and infrastructure; increased competition for choice locations; crowding out of California's remarkable flora and fauna, sometimes to the point of extinction; and climate change, leading among many other things to drought and fire.
The steady degradation of the quality of life for everyone, including humans, that results from growth does not register a blip on the GDP radar screen. Or, rather, it does -- by contributing to GDP, disaster relief, for example, registers as a positive contribution to society!
I wait impatiently for California Today to alert me to the story on how California, the nation's most forward-looking state, is preparing for a future of zero or negative growth while still providing for its citizens and shouldering the enormous environmental responsibilities that attend its enormous economic footprint. Two out of three isn't good enough.

The Great Escape Untouched for almost seven decades, the tunnel used in the Great Escape has finally been unearthed.The 111-yard passage nicknamed 'Harry' by Allied prisoners was sealed by the Germans after the audacious break-out from the POW camp Stalag Luft III in western Poland.Despite huge interest in the subject, encouraged by the film starring Steve McQueen, the tunnel remained undisturbed over the decades because it was behind the Iron Curtain and the Soviet authorities had no interest in its significance.
But at last British archaeologists have excavated it, and discovered its remarkable secrets. Many of the bed boards which had been joined together to stop it collapsing were still in position. And the ventilation shaft, ingeniously crafted from used powdered milk containers known as Klim Tins, remained in working order.
Scattered throughout the tunnel, which is 30ft below ground, were bits of old metal buckets, hammers and crowbars which were used to hollow out the route.
A total of 600 prisoners worked on three tunnels at the same time. They were nicknamed Tom, Dick and Harry and were just 2 ft square for most of their length. It was on the night of March 24 and 25, 1944, that 76 Allied airmen escaped through Harry. Barely a third of the 200 prisoners many in fake German uniforms and civilian outfits and carrying false identity papers, who were meant to slip away managed to leave before the alarm was raised when escapee number 77 was spotted.
Tunnel vision: A tunnel reconstruction showing the trolley system. Only three made it back to Britain. Another 50 were executed by firing squad on the orders of Adolf Hitler, who was furious after learning of the breach of security. In all, 90 boards from bunk beds, 62 tables, 34 chairs and 76 benches, as well as thousands of items including knives, spoons, forks, towels and blankets, were squirreled away by the Allied prisoners to aid the escape plan under the noses of their captors.
Although the Hollywood movie suggested otherwise,NO Americans were involved in the operation. Most were British, and the others were from Canada, (all the tunnelers were Canadian personnel with backgrounds in mining) Poland, New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa.
The site of the tunnel, recently excavated by British archaeologists.The latest dig, over three weeks in August, located the entrance to Harry, which was originally concealed under a stove in Hut 104.
The team also found another tunnel, called George, whose exact position had not been charted. It was never used as the 2,000 prisoners were forced to march to other camps as the Red Army approached in January 1945.
Watching the excavation was Gordie King, 91, an RAF radio operator, who was 140th in line to use Harry and therefore missed out. 'This brings back such bitter-sweet memories,' he said as he wiped away tears. 'I'm amazed by what they've found.’

Escape from WWII POW Camps Starting in 1940, an increasing number of British and Canadian Airmen found themselves as the involuntary guests of the Third Reich, and the Crown was casting about for ways and means to facilitate their escape.. Now obviously, one of the most helpful aids to that end is a useful and accurate map, one showing not only where stuff was, but also showing the locations of 'safe houses' where a POW on-the-lam could go for food and shelter. Paper maps had some real drawbacks -- they make a lot of noise when you open and fold them, they wear out rapidly, and if they get wet, they turn into mush.
Someone in MI-5 (similar to America's OSS) got the idea of printing escape maps on silk. It's durable, can be scrunched-up into tiny wads and, unfolded as many times as needed and, makes no noise whatsoever. At that time, there was only one manufacturer in Great Britain that had perfected the technology of printing on silk, and that was John Waddington Ltd When approached by the government, the firm was only too happy to do its bit for the war effort.
By pure coincidence, Waddington was also the U.K. Licensee for the popular American board game Monopoly. As it happened, 'games and pastimes' was a category of item qualified for insertion into 'CARE packages', dispatched by the International Red Cross to prisoners of war. Under the strictest of secrecy, in a securely guarded and inaccessible old workshop on the grounds of Waddington's, a group of sworn-to-secrecy employees began mass-producing escape maps, keyed to each region of Germany, Italy, and France or wherever Allied POW camps were located. Sen. David Perdue (R-Ga.), one of the original sponsors of the RAISE Act, recently said that legal immigration should stay at current levels. When speaking about President Trump's immigration plan, the senator said: They've taken the RAISE Act that Cotton and I put forward two years ago and actually modified it and made it better.
Whereas the RAISE Act would have potentially reduced total immigration over a 10 year period by some, you know, three or four-hundred thousand, the intent here is to keep immigration -- legal immigration -- at the same level, 1.1 million, and focus more on the job categories. It's a blend of family protection as well as workers for these job categories that are going short right now.
This is very disappointing. The entire purpose of the RAISE Act was to eliminate chain migration and the visa lottery to reduce total immigration numbers. Reducing immigration numbers would free up jobs for unemployed Americans and increase wages by tightening the labor market. Please send a message to Sen. Members of some of those civilizations are the ancestors of Earth’s peoples, and they are assisting the populace and the planet in myriad ways—some are in spacecraft surrounding Earth, others are living among you.
Everything in existence is consciousness vibrating at countless different frequencies, and the vibratory rate is the measure of conscious awareness within an individual, and collectively within a civilization. The collective consciousness of all of Earth’s life forms is vibrating at successively higher frequencies because the light is intensifying. People who are treating each other and the animals with kindness and respect are radiating the light’s high vibrations that are transforming life on Earth and ending long ages of dark control.
That is a “bare-bones” summary of the information that newcomers to universal truths need to know. Their minds would be boggled if everything came forth in one fell swoop, and it won’t—please don’t think that you must become professors with prepared lectures! Soul searchers will ask questions to which you know the answers, and by all means, refer them to Web sites and books that will be helpful for their understanding. You may offer to meet with receptive individuals or perhaps suggest that if they form a discussion group, you will gladly participate.
We recounted information that you know well to emphasize what the majority of Earth’s people do not know at all, and that is why darkness still is part of life there. When they learn that they have the power to make the better world they want, they will direct their energy into manifesting that world instead of concentrating on what they do NOT want, but are contributing to its continuance via the universal law of attraction.
Beloved brothers and sisters, we know that your knowledge gets put aside by sadness about the many millions who are homeless and impoverished; by distress about shooting massacres, concerns about the many countries in political and ideological upheaval, and impatience for all fighting, greed and corruption to end. However natural those feelings are, we urge you to please not dwell on the situations that evoke them. Staying steadfast in the light is of immeasurable value in helping to end those situations and bring to fruition a peaceful, prosperous, harmonious world for all.

Although “space” appears black to you, it is light fluctuating in countless different frequencies, or bandwidths or radio waves, and the images you see are a combination of how you perceive astral bodies or debris and what the telescopic lenses’ limited capability can register. “Matthew said energy is neutral. How can neutral energy attract ‘attachments’?” It is the other way around. This universe has vast pools of energy that can be thought of as clay awaiting potters to give some of it forms with intention. Your thoughts and feelings are forms with intention. They pull energy streamers out of the neutral pools, attach themselves to the streamers and give them direction—it is an integral part of the universal law of attraction. The universe’s constant expanding and contracting motion keeps neutral energy at the ready so that every new thought and feeling can engage in the attachment process.
“I was told that Christed energy comes from Jesus. According to Matthew, a lot of what the Bible says about Jesus was fabricated by early leaders of state and church. If he is right about that, what does Christed energy pertain to? Is it the same as Christ consciousness?” The soul you know as Jesus wants to speak about this.

Christed energy is the name some have given the essence of the realm closest to Creator, where souls came into existence when Creator’s infinite, eternal unconditional love was expressed as light. Creator’s first individual expressions are the souls you call archangels. They remain in fullness in that realm of I AM, Totality, Oneness of All, and have used its energy to create other souls. One is Sananda, and one of Sananda’s personages is the soul you know as Jesus or Yeshua or Jesus the Christ, from whence comes Christ consciousness. Christ is oneness with God. It matters not what you call the Supreme Being of this universe, there is no separation of souls from this Being or one from another. The powerful energy of Christ consciousness is throughout this universe.
The foundation of Christianity is what is written about me in the Bible, my birth to a virgin, crucifixion and resurrection. None of that is true, it is a story made up by the few who wanted to control all others in those times. By distorting or omitting some of my messages and exalting me as the “only son of God,” they created a false separation between the people and God. They also wrote what they called “God’s laws” and told the people if they disobeyed them, they would incur the wrath of God and endure eternal damnation.
Eventually the Bible’s great deception about God and me and the factual history of Christianity will be revealed. It will be the same with your other religions that originated in truths brought by messengers of the light and were distorted by persons who wanted to control the masses. When that becomes known, the people of Earth will be unified in spiritual truths.

The elites who run California like to pretend they have a better way. The highest taxes in the nation have not killed (yet) the current success of the high tech sector in the Bay Area, generating immense tax revenues that can be squandered on a useless "high speed" train line that will never be completed and still leave a budget surplus. Money, good weather, great food, amazing scenery, and other amenities make for The Good Life, such that the political and business elites who seem to never get tired of congratulating themselves for creating the closest thing to paradise. But this summer, in the wake of disastrous wildfires sparked by poorly sited and maintained power lines, the deep thinkers running the state have come up with a plan that can't be papered over: to stop the wildfires when the wind blows, just shut off the juice.
Bloomberg reports: A plan by California's biggest utility to cut power on high-wind days during the onrushing wildfire season could plunge millions of residents into darkness. And the vast majority isn't ready for it.
The plan by PG&E Corp. comes after the bankrupt utility said a transmission line that snapped in windy weather probably started last year's Camp Fire, the deadliest in state history. While the plan may end one problem, it creates another as Californians seek ways to deal with what some fear could be days and days of blackouts.

ENFORCEMENT PRIORITIZES BORDER SECURITY
There's been some question as to whether mandatory E-Verify would be part of the President's plan. It was not mentioned in yesterday's speech, nor was there any mention of E-Verify in the factsheets provided by the White House. That doesn't mean mandatory E-Verify won't be part of the final plan, so we'll continue to pressure the White House on the issue. Instead, most of the enforcement provisions focus on closing the loopholes that have led to the ongoing border surge. Unfortunately, without the details, we can't determine if those provisions would adequately close the loopholes.
Pres. Trump's plan seeks to end the Flores Settlement Agreement that forces the feds to release minors who cross the border illegally after 20 days. It also seeks to root out fraudulent claims for asylum. "My plan expedites relief for legitimate asylum-seekers by screening out the meritless claims. If you have a proper claim, you will quickly be admitted -- if you don't, you will be promptly returned home." -- Pres. Trump
In addition, the President's plan would invest in ports of entry to improve detection of illegal drugs. But there was no mention of the biometric entry-exit system, although, the administration has made some significant strides with entry-exit over the last year.
MERIT-BASED IMMIGRATION
Most notably, Pres. Trump's plan would eliminate chain migration and the visa lottery, and like Sen. Tom Cotton's (R-Ark.) RAISE Act, it would maintain green cards for spouses and minor children. Unlike the RAISE Act, which would reduce legal immigration by approximately 40%, the President said his plan would maintain the current level of green cards -- approximately 1.1 million per year. But Pres. Trump claims that, under his plan, American workers and their wages would not be harmed by continuing this current, high level of legal immigration. "As a result of our broken rules, the annual green card flow is mostly low-wage and low-skilled. Newcomers compete for jobs against the most vulnerable Americans, and put pressure on our social safety net and generous welfare programs.

PELOSI SAYS IT'S DOA
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said the President's plan is "dead on arrival" should it reach the House. Pres. Trump would need the Democratically-controlled House to pass the bill for it to become law. She also adamantly defended the current, family-based system that accounts for roughly two-thirds of all legal immigration. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who chairs the Senate Judiciary Committee, said that the White House plan provides a starting point to deal "with the other aspects of immigration." Given his history on the issue, that most likely means adding a mass amnesty to get Democrats on board.

The Hill -- Roy's statement on the Trump plan showed up in a number of places, but best represented by The Hill: NumbersUSA, a group that favors lower levels of immigration, issued a cautiously worded statement that said Trump deserves "praise" for "trying to fashion an immigration system that would better serve the interests of the American people" but noted it is still waiting for "details on how the plan moves toward that priority."

USA Today -- Chris was quoted in a story that focused on the whether the Trump plan could pass through Congress: "From what we've seen and heard about the plan and what has been reported on it, I think for now it has very little chance of passing," said Chris Chmielenski, deputy director of NumbersUSA, a group that advocates for lower levels of legal and illegal immigration.
L.A. Times -- Roy was quoted in the Times before the WH immigration proposal was released: Roy Beck, the head of NumbersUSA, a leading immigration restriction group, attended meetings in recent months with Kushner, but said there had been little narrowing in the distance between advocates for immigration restrictions and lobbyists from the Chamber of Commerce and Koch Industries, which have pushed for more migration to expand an increasingly tight labor market.
"We totally oppose any major overhaul that doesn't reduce the numbers," Beck said. "We're about lowering immigration."

Report: President May Invoke Insurrection Act to Remove Illegal Aliens

Sen. Graham Introduces Bill to Address Border Surge

The official unemployment rate is at an "historic low" and job growth is encouraging. There is, however, more to the story. Wage growth remains sluggish and there is still a lot of "slack" in the labor market, meaning the claims of a labor shortage are attempts by employers to undo the recent gains made by American workers.
In her interview with Jose Antonio Vargas this week, NPR's Rachel Martin mischaracterized separate proposals from David Frum and President Trump to reduce immigration. "Chain migration" and "family reunification" are not interchangeable terms.
President Trump is reportedly ready to invoke the Insurrection Act of 1807 to defend America against the illegal invasion that's being pushed to overrun and overthrow our nation.

Pres. Trump Says His Immigration Reform Plan Doesn't Cut Green Cards While House Democrats Prepare to Pass Amnesty

NumbersUSA stands for reducing immigration numbers. Yesterday, President Trump announced a plan that makes several welcome changes in the U.S. immigration system. Improvements include cutting out chain migration and getting rid of the immigration lottery.
Also, most future greencards would be handed out based on the qualities of the individual applicant rather than extended family connections. Security on the border would be improved, and legislative fixes would close the loopholes that have led to the asylum crisis on the border. Plus, there are no amnesties in the plan. All this is GREAT!!! BUT . . . Pres. Trump says his plan does not reduce legal immigration. He made no mention of E-Verify, either. After all, the tallest walls won't keep anyone out, as long as there is an open gate; about 40% illegal aliens in the country first entered through our legal points of entry. Yet there is hope. The White House is still working out the details of its plan. . . That means the American public still has time to make its voice heard. We can press hard to make sure that there are helpful elements added to the plan. . . elements like E-Verify and reductions in legal immigration. Cutting back some of the hundreds of thousands of new employment greencards could potentially make the plan more likely to pass! We need your financial help to do this.
President Trump recognized the need to end the harm that massive rates of immigration do to American workers and their families, yet minutes later, he was emphasizing that the White House plan does not change immigration numbers.
As you know, at NumbersUSA we say, "it's about the numbers." Reducing the number of immigrants coming into the country each year back down to traditional levels has always been our most important goal. And you members agree -- strongly agree. When we ran an opinion poll of our members just three months ago, 95.2% of our members want to CUT LEGAL IMMIGRATION from the current 1.1 million a year to half or less! In fact, 87% want to cut legal immigration by three-quarters or more! As it stands now, there will be shifting of visas from certain categories to other categories, but Pres. Trump says his plan will keep legal immigration at the same level (currently it is 1.1 million a year). But in our new national television ad now running on news networks, we point out that immigration should be REDUCED to keep American wages rising. (See it for yourself.)
When push comes to shove, getting Washington to cut immigration is like getting them to cut spending: Everyone is for it in theory, but everyone has their own special program, and no-one in Washington can agree on what to cut. Without your help, this plan could be turned into something frightening.
Here's how:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has flatly rejected the White House plan, she says because it doesn't provide a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens already here. House Democrats are working on an amnesty for millions of illegal aliens whose parents brought them to America illegally, and many other illegal aliens. Once they get citizenship, those aliens can then apply to sponsor their parents (as well as other family members). As I said above, the White House plan does have many improvements. But if the emerging details don't include mandatory E-Verify to stop the jobs magnet, and don't result in at least some reductions in legal immigration, there may not be much in the plan that typical Americans will feel. The worst of both worlds is that Republicans in the Senate take this imperfect White House plan and use it as the basis of negotiations with Nancy Pelosi, who's pushing a straight-up amnesty bill for millions. The whole deal could go south very fast.
Here's how we plan to make sure we don't get the worst-of-both-worlds bill:
● We'll be mobilizing our members to contact their Congressmen, using our toll-free phone lines and free faxing system. We're bombarding Congress with faxes, e-mails and phone calls in opposition to amnesty.
● We'll continue to notify activists of congressional town halls all spring and summer long.
● We will alert our 8 million Facebook fans to contact key elected officials representing them who could support this amnesty.
● Our Capitol Hill team is working with our allies on the Hill, to do everything to stop this proposal from being hijacked.
● We'll apply the heaviest pressure to newly-elected Democrats and vulnerable Republicans to convince them they need to cut immigration to produce the sort of wage growth and strong economy they plan to run on. We can't do this without your financial support.

House Judiciary Committee to consider TWO amnesty bills, while continuing to do nothing to address border crisis

At the beginning of the year, House Leadership reserved the bill number H.R. 6 for the Democrats top immigration priority -- The American Dream and Promise Act. That bill would have granted amnesty to approximately 4 million illegal aliens.
But they've decided to break H.R. 6 into two separate bills, and these are the two bills the Judiciary Committee will mark up on Wednesday: H.R. 2820 -- The Dream Act of 2019, introduced by Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-Calif.), would grant conditional legal status to approximately 3.5 million illegal aliens who claim to have entered the country under the age of 18 and have maintained continuous presence for at least 4 years. Illegal aliens who have been convicted of a felony offense or 3 or more misdemeanors committed on different days may not be eligible, however the Secretary of Homeland Security may waive these requirements. H.R. 2821 -- The American Promise Act of 2019, introduced by Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-Calif.), would grant legal permanent residency to approximately 440,000 foreign citizens (mostly illegal aliens) from certain countries who have received Temporary Protected Status.

That's the sobering money quote from Heather Hansman's March 17 op-ed in The Washington Post, "We were warned 150 years ago about our water shortage. We have to do better." The Colorado river's ability to serve 40 million people (and growing) is under threat. And despite steps taken to delay the moment of reckoning, no one believes it is enough.
Seven states have agreed to take less than their allotment of water but the river is "already overallocated and climate change is predicted to shrink flows by up to 50 percent by the end of the century," she writes. The inconvenient truth is left unsaid: Immigration is the main driver of U.S. population growth.
"We are in for a reckoning. Only a fool believes the false premise that our economy can grow without bounds. The carrying capacity of the planet has limits. Our capitalistic economy depends on growth in the numbers of consumers and their increasing appetite. But our planet is struggling to support the 7 billion humans who inhabit it." And an op-ed in The Press of Atlantic City argues that population needs to be taken more seriously:
"Many people think that climate change is the greatest challenge facing mankind at this point. To the extent that it is caused by people, though, it too is just another product of the size of the human population. Greenhouse gases produced by people were inconsequential before there were a billion of them and before their numbers required large amounts of energy produced by fossil fuels. As with the supply of food, the supply of energy will rely on technology to ensure there is enough without reducing the environment's capacity to support us."
These are useful contributions to our national dialogue. But we need to remind people that population is a local issue that happens all over the world. And in the U.S. 95 percent of population growth over the next 40+ years will be a result of Congress' immigration policies.

We expected this, and now it's happening. The people running the House of Representatives have finally settled their differences on the amnesties they've been drafting for months. This week, two of the bills will be marked up in committee. This means the Judiciary Committee will examine the bill drafts and amend them before (presumably) passing them. Soon after that, the legislation is to be brought to the House floor for a vote. The "markup" of these no-strings amnesty bills is important, because some House members who oppose amnesty (mostly Republicans) will try to change the bills to make them less obnoxious in committee. When a bill goes to the floor, some of the Democrats from Trump-supporting districts may think twice if enough citizens from their districts raise their voices right now! Help us drive messages into Congress this week, to stop the amnesties. This is not some later-down-the-road threat. The markup is scheduled for this week, less than 3 miles from the NumbersUSA office -- at the Rayburn House Office Building.

Here are the two amnesty bills we are so alarmed about:
1) H.R. 2820, the "DREAM Act of 2019" would grant amnesty to more than 3 million illegal aliens, putting them on the path to eventual citizenship. With chain migration, this could result eventually in 14 million more immigrants.
2) H.R. 2821, "American Promise Act of 2019" could offer an amnesty to 320,000 illegal aliens who were granted "Temporary Protected Status" (TPS) or Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) due to crises in their home countries. The message this bill sends is that temporary protected status really means never having to go home.
These bills aren't merely focused on helping supposedly law-abiding illegal aliens; these bills do everything humanly possible to allow criminal illegal aliens to receive an amnesty, with the right to live and work in the United States. Not only do criminals with 2 misdemeanors qualify, the bill actually says that an alien could be convicted of any number of misdemeanors and still qualify, as long as the crimes were committed on the same day. That includes convictions for human smuggling. Older convictions can be waived. Officially, gang members are excluded from the DREAM Act bill... but important government information is ignored! The bill states, "allegations of gang membership obtained from a State or Federal in-house or local database, or a network of databases used for the purpose of recording and sharing activities of alleged gang members across law enforcement agencies, shall not establish the participation described." H.R. 2821 allows DHS to waive almost any crime a TPS recipient has committed and give him or her an amnesty. NumbersUSA will oppose these bills with many resources, Thomas. Based on past survey results we have taken of our members' views, I feel certain you will agree with us about this bill.
